Cookie Policy
Last updated: 25 February 2026
This policy explains what cookies SnipCMS uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. We comply with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, understand how you use it, and improve your experience. Some are essential for the site to work; others are optional.
2. Cookies we use

These are necessary for the Service to function. They do not require consent.

These are only set if you click "Accept" on the cookie consent banner.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics — distinguishes unique visitors. | 2 years |
_ga_* |
Google Analytics — maintains session state. | 2 years |
3. The SnipCMS snippet
The JavaScript snippet that website owners add to their sites (snipcms.js) does not set any cookies on end-user browsers. It fetches content via API calls and does not track visitors.
4. How to manage cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Cookie banner — when you first visit snipcms.com, you can accept or decline analytics cookies.
- Browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See your browser's help documentation for instructions.
- Clear consent — to reset your cookie choice, clear your browser's localStorage for snipcms.com. The consent banner will appear again on your next visit.
Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working correctly.
5. Third-party cookies
Google Analytics may set cookies from the google-analytics.com domain. These are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We have configured Google Analytics to anonymise IP addresses where possible.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if we add or remove cookies. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
