Terms of Service
Last updated: 25 February 2026
These terms govern your use of SnipCMS ("the Service"), operated by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.
1. The Service
SnipCMS is a content management tool that lets website owners and their authorised team members edit text and images on static HTML websites. We provide a JavaScript snippet, a dashboard, and an API to enable this.
2. Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
- One person or organisation per account. Account sharing is not permitted.
3. Your content
You own your content. SnipCMS does not claim any ownership over the text, images, or other content you store through the Service. We only access your content to provide and maintain the Service.
You are responsible for ensuring that any content saved through SnipCMS does not violate applicable laws or infringe on the rights of others.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Store or distribute illegal, harmful, or abusive content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or sites.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Use the API in a way that places excessive load on our servers.
- Resell the Service without prior written permission.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. Plans and billing
- Free accounts are subject to usage limits as described on our pricing page.
- Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. Prices are displayed in USD.
- You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan at any time from the dashboard.
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at hello@snipcms.com if you believe you are owed a refund.
- We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscriptions will not be affected until renewal.
6. Free trials
Paid plans may include a free trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged for the first billing period. You can cancel at any time during the trial at no cost.
7. Service availability
We aim to keep SnipCMS available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability.
If SnipCMS is unavailable, your websites continue to display their original HTML content — the Service failing does not break your sites.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- SnipCMS is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We are not responsible for content entered by you or your team members through the Service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Data and privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. By using the Service, you agree to the data practices described in those documents.
10. Intellectual property
The SnipCMS name, logo, website design, and code are owned by us. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission. Your content remains yours — see section 3.
11. Account termination
- You can delete your account at any time. This will permanently remove your data within 30 days.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with notice where reasonable.
- On termination, your sites will revert to displaying their original HTML content.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the dashboard. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where local consumer protection laws grant you rights in your own jurisdiction.
